Diversity and Collaborative Knowledge Curriculum

Christine Ridarsky, Rochester City Historian and Dr. Kristi Fragnoli, professor of teacher education at the College of Saint Rose created a curriculum for graduate students and current professionals centered on the principles of the Diversity and Collaborative Knowledge Program. The historian created three modules for educators on best practices for working with historians and local repositories. These modules focused on thinking like a historian, visiting a local repository, and selecting historical records. The professor of teacher education created three modules for librarians, archivists, and historians on best practices for working with educators. The education modules are titled, “What Informs a Teacher?” “Transforming a Historical Document into a Teacher’s Dream Document,” and “Curriculum Connections.” All the modules are designed for use at both the graduate-level and the professional learning environment.
