Formative Assessment
List the ways Latino American farm workers were discriminated against and explain how individuals tried to end it.

Discuss the discrimination faced by Latino Americans in the late 20th century and explain how individuals and groups tried to change society and bring about equality for Latino Americans. (Essay, Socratic Seminar, etc)

Research the origins of Latino immigration to the United States and explain why this group became a target of discrimination and racism.
 
Taking Informed Action
Research the presence of Latino Americans in your local community. Are there individuals that stand out as exemplars in the community. Brainstorm ways to honor community members of Latino heritage. Think about veterans, community organizations, law enforcement, firefighters, and government representatives.
