How To Create An Activity

Interpreting the Evidence

STEP 1:  Activity Details

  • Name the Activity
  • Select Thinking Skill
  • Select Historical Era
  • Select Primary Source Material
  • Select Grade Level (you can choose more than one)
  • Select Region (you can choose more than one)
  • Select Tags (you can choose more than one)

STEP 2:  Add a Primary Source — You can add one from the site or upload one of your own. You may only add one primary source for the Analyze a Primary Source Learning Activity.

STEP 3:  Write Instructions — Introduction and Conclusion for your students and Teacher Instructions.

STEP 4:  Add Questions — You can keep default questions, delete some or all of the default questions and add your own questions

STEP 5:  Publish and Share — When you are finished, you publish the activity for your own use and you have the option to share it on the site with other registered users or keep it private for your own use.

 

Comparison and Contextualization

Chronological Reasoning and Causation

  • Select Grade Level (you can choose more than one)

  • Select Tags (you can choose more than one)

STEP 2: Add Primary Sources — You can add primary sources from the site or upload your own. You need to add at least two primary sources for the Chronological Reasoning and Causation Learning Activity.

STEP 3: Write Instructions — Introduction and Conclusion for your students and Teacher Instructions.

STEP 4: Add Questions — Under the add questions section, you will see the images that you uploaded in the add primary sources section. You will also see the ability to add headings, narratives, questions and more primary sources. Click on the button for the item you wish to add and a text box will appear. You may then click and drag the added items around to reorder them. 

STEP 5: Publish and Share — When you are finished, you publish the activity for your own use and you have the option to share it on the site with other registered users or keep it private for your own use.

  

Evaluating the Evidence

STEP 1: Activity Details

  • Name the Activity

  • Select Grade Level (you can choose more than one)

  • Select Tags (you can choose more than one)

STEP 2: Add Primary Sources — You can add primary sources from the site or upload your own. You need to add at least three primary sources for the Evaluation the Evidence Learning Activity. Students will be asked to place each document on one side of the scale to show which perspective they think it represents. 

STEP 3: Write Instructions — You will need to label each side of the scale with the perspectives your students will be considering in this activity. Also, add Introduction and Conclusion for your students and Teacher Instructions.

STEP 4: Add Questions — You can keep default questions, delete some or all of the default questions and add your own questions

STEP 5: Publish and Share — When you are finished, you publish the activity for your own use and you have the option to share it on the site with other registered users or keep it private for your own use.

   

Geographic Reasoning

STEP 1: Activity Details

  • Name the Activity

  • Select Historical Era
  • Select a Map
  • Select Primary Source Material
  • Select Grade Level (you can choose more than one)
  • Select Region (you can choose more than one)
  • Select Tags (you can choose more than one)

STEP 2: Add Primary Sources — You can add primary sources from the site or upload your own. You need to add two primary sources for the Geographic Reasoning Learning Activity. Students will be asked to place the documents on the map you chose in the previous step. 

STEP 3: Write Instructions — Introduction and Conclusion for your students and Teacher Instructions.

STEP 4: Add Questions — You can keep default questions, delete some or all of the default questions and add your own questions

STEP 5: Publish and Share — When you are finished, you publish the activity for your own use and you have the option to share it on the site with other registered users or keep it private for your own use.
