Reichsmarschall Hermann Göring authorized Heydrich to prepare a plan for a "total solution of the Jewish question" in territories under German control. In response, Heydrich organized the Wannsee Conference to coordinate the efforts of various government departments in implementing this Final Solution.
Participants and Objectives Fifteen senior officials from the SS, Gestapo, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of the Interior, and other governmental bodies attended the conference. Heydrich, led the meeting, while Adolf Eichmann, head of the RSHA’s Jewish Affairs department, prepared minutes.
