Description
Manuscript register in various hands. Includes the signatures and professions of the members of the Albany Mechanic's Society. Notable members include Philip Hooker, architect and Jeremiah Van Rensselaer, painter. Other professions represented by the society's membership include gold and silversmiths, bookbinders, printers, brewers, tailors, carpenters, and umbrella makers. The earliest legible date is February 2,1802 and latest May 1, 1802, although the earliest entries could date back to 1801. Edges of the manuscript are damaged by fire.
