Description
Benjamin Ferencz at age seven holding a book. Born in the Carpathian Mountains to a Jewish family, at the time of this picture Ferencz spoke only Yiddish, causing him much difficulty at school. However, this early picture of him fortells of his studiousness. In 1943 Ferencz would graduate from Harvard Law School and in 1947 would be chosen as the chief prosecutor of the Einsatzgruppen Trial which tried 24 leaders of the SS in what some would deem "the biggest murder trial in history."
