Description
Members of the League of German Girls wave Nazi flags in support of the German annexation of Austria, also known as the Anschluss. The League was an organization designed to indoctrinate children with Nazi ideology and prepare them for their future roles as the wives and mothers of the next generation of Aryans. The positive reception to German troops as they annexed Austria illustrated in this photograph displays the eagerness of many Austrians to participate in the Nazification of their country and the expansion of a "Greater Germany" [Großdeutschland].
