Description
Response to the Wagner-Rogers Bill from "The St. Petersburg Evening Independent" republished in "The Congressional Record." The Wagner-Rogers Bill was a piece of legislation which proposed admitting 20,000 German refugee children to the United States outside of immigration quotas. This came amidst a swelling of antisemitism in Nazi Germany. Despite public debate, the Wagner-Rogers Bill never came to a vote.
