Left Behind

Robert’s negligence proved tragic.  When Ann Sharwin remarried, her new husband, Alexander Robertson, sold Liss to Charleston, South Carolina while leaving Harry behind in New York. No one had contacted Robert. In a fit of rage upon learning this, Robert confronted Robertson, removed Harry from the home, and took him to Oyster Bay to live with his parents, where Liss’s sister was still enslaved. Then, he set about trying to find Liss and bring her home.
