An Act to incorporate the Society instituted in the State of New York, for the promotion of agriculture, arts and manufactures. Description from a published volume: "Society for Promotion of Agriculture, Arts and Manufactures, organized in 1791, incorporated in 1793, was the first agricultural society in New York State and the fifth in the country. Its founders included some foremost citizens of the State. The purposes and activities of the Society were many; among them was the stressing of the value of the experimental method to improve agriculture." 1949-1950 New York State Freedom Train Document No. 76.
