2022 Student Research Awards

Welcome to the New York State Archives Student Research Awards! While historical research can be challenging, it is also extremely rewarding. We invite you to explore these pages and ask questions as you create, develop, and submit your Student Research Awards project. If your teacher has directed you to this contest, great! You already have your research mentor. If not, your first step will be to identify your mentor. This person can be your teacher, school librarian, parent, or a public historian, librarian, or archivist. Your research mentor will be an important part of your project as they will help guide you through the process and provide help with your research when needed. Have fun and we look forward to seeing your Student Research Award entry! If you or your mentor have questions, please contact the statewide coordinator, Jordan Jace, at jordan.jace@nysed.gov or call 518-474-0245.
