This page gives an overview of the guidelines and suggestions for creating a Student Research Awards project. The guidelines apply to all grade levels, but we have created some grade-level specific checklists and support materials to help students conduct their research and submit a successful historical research project.
Who?
Any individual student, group of students, or whole class in New York State in grades 4-12 can submit a project.
What?
Historical research project using primary sources with an annotated bibliography. Projects can be presented in any format, including but not limited to documentary, research paper, historical marker proposal, exhibit, performance, slide deck, website, or other.
